Splash, Dash & TRI™ is a multisport training program for ages 7-12 that teaches young athletes the fundamental skills they need to enjoy the sport!
Coaches introduce young athletes to training and racing in an atmosphere of fun and learning. Coaches work on improving swim skills for speed at short distances. They teach safety and handling skills on the bike. They promote good run form and help endurance for an appropriate age distance. In addition, athletes will learn how to effectively put all three sports together!
Athletes can participate to enjoy the training and meet new friends, or they can train to feel confident participating in a local youth event. Most importantly, we are developing an atmosphere of camaraderie while encouraging kids to dig deep, develop skills of athleticism, perseverance and determination so they can cross any finish line with confidence!
Note: athletes will need to bring the following for each class:
- bike with 2 wheels in working condition
- good fitting helmet
- bathing suit (girls will sometimes put shorts on over the bathing suit post swim)
- T-shirt and sport shorts
- towel
- goggles
- water bottle
Thursdays at Old Farm Pool 6:45pm
Tuesdays at the Martin Luther King Pool & Park 3-4pm
At Fit 2 B Kids, we believe young athletes should develop speed in shorter distances before developing endurance. Why? The window for developing speed is only open at younger ages, but athletes have a lifetime to develop endurance. We follow USA Triathlon's guidelines for age-appropriate race development and encourage young athletes to be the best they can be at the distance they race.
